1. Introduction of Artemision Bronze Sculpture

This famous bronze sculpture, known as the Artemision Bronze, is now in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and is one of the most representative bronze works of the classical period of ancient Greece. The Artemision Bronze Sculpture is about 2.09 meters high and was created around 460 BC. It was cast using the lost wax method, showing the ancient Greeks’ ultimate mastery of human structure and dynamic posture.

The statue shows a naked male god with arms outstretched, left arm raised horizontally, right arm raised high, body slightly turned, left leg stepped forward, posture full of tension, stable and dynamic. The Artemision Bronze Sculpture has thick curly hair and beard on the head, and a solemn expression, reflecting the majesty of the god. Although the statue lacks weapons, scholars speculate that it may be a statue of Zeus (throwing thunder) or a Poseidon Greek Statue (wielding a trident). The whole sculpture is well-proportioned and has clear muscle lines. It is an outstanding example of the classical ideal human beauty and an important object for studying ancient Greek religion, art and aesthetic concepts. Arturban Sculpture can customize various Greek and Roman mythology statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
