1. Introduction of Tommy Trojan Sculpture

Roger Noble Burnham (1876–1962) was an important American sculptor in the early 20th century, known for his contributions to public art and campus sculpture. He graduated from Harvard University and received classical art training in Paris and Italy. Burnham was committed to integrating classical aesthetics with the modern American spirit. One of his representative works is the Tommy Trojan Sculpture created for the University of Southern California. Unveiled in 1930, this sculpture has become one of the most symbolic campus symbols of the University of Southern California, representing the five core spirits of honor, loyalty, courage, faith and physical fitness.
