1. Introduction of Statue of Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette (1755–1793), born in Vienna, was the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria. In 1770, she married Louis XVI, the Dauphin of France, a marriage closely linked to the diplomatic relations between the two countries at the time; after Louis XVI ascended the throne in 1774, she became Queen of France. This Statue of Marie Antoinette is a half-length court portrait of Marie Antoinette, focusing on her signature 18th-century high hairstyle.
Her hair is styled in an upward bun, layered with curls, braids, and beads, with the back cascading down to her neck. The face and neck are sculpted from white Carrara marble, with meticulously detailed features; the head is slightly turned to the side, conveying a serene expression. The dress in the Statue of Marie Antoinette is made of red marble with natural orange-red and brown veins, creating a striking contrast with her white skin; the wide, low-cut neckline features naturally draped folds, and the shoulders are adorned with a string of white marble roses.
