1. Introduction of Pygmalion and Galatea Sculpture
This sculpture draws inspiration from the Greek myth of Pygmalion and Galatea. Legend has it that Pygmalion, a sculptor, created an idealized woman and gradually fell in love with his creation. Moved by his affection, the goddess of love brought the statue to life, and the woman was later named Galatea. The Pygmalion and Galatea Sculpture depicts the pivotal moment when the statue is about to “awaken”: Galatea, a nude woman, stands on a high rock pedestal, leaning slightly forward, looking down at Pygmalion kneeling beside her. Their gazes and hand gestures establish a close connection, expressing the mythical transformation through their interaction.
The Pygmalion and Galatea Sculpture is made of white marble. Pygmalion, draped in a long robe, kneels on one knee and looks up at Galatea, one hand lightly touching her arm or palm. The robe extends from her shoulder to her leg, forming continuous, heavy folds. Galatea’s human form is relatively smooth, contrasting sharply with the rough rock and intricate drapery. On the other side, a small Cupid/putto is also placed, peeking out from beside the rock, hinting at the role of the power of love in the story. 2. Production process of Pygmalion and Galatea Sculpture
Step1 Design Communication: You supply us with several photographs with dimensions.
Step 2 Project Consultation: Our team will make a production plan, according to your design, budget, delivery time, or any other service. Our final aim is to supply high quality and cost-saving sculpture efficiently.
Step 3 Confirm Mold: We will make 1:1 clay or 3D mold. When finished clay mold, I will take photos for your reference. The clay mold can modify any details till to your satisfaction.
Step 4 Carving and Polish: We will carving with natural marble according to clay mold. Then polished.
Step 5 Package: Strong wooden crate with waterproof and shockproof foam inside.
