1. Introduction of George III Statue
George III (1738–1820) was the third monarch of the House of Hanover in Great Britain, ascending the throne in 1760 and reigning for nearly 60 years. Born in London, he was the first monarch of the dynasty born in England and whose first language was English. His reign spanned significant historical events, including the American Revolutionary War and the Protracted War between Great Britain and France. This marble George III Statue, created in 1813 by the British sculptor Francis Leggatt Chantrey, is now housed in the Art Gallery of South Australia.
The figure is depicted in a half-length portrait composition, with the head slightly turned to one side, a broad forehead, and curly hair on both sides. The face clearly shows the eye sockets, bridge of the nose, lips, and jaw structure. A classic cloak covers the shoulders, the fabric secured with round buckles, creating varying depths of folds at the chest; a sash diagonally across the body and the exposed star-shaped medal below further emphasize his royal status. The entire George III Statue is sculpted from white marble and rests on a simple circular base. Arturban Sculpture can customize various king sculpture. Welcome to contact us for more details.
